Solar sea salt in three processing tiers
North Sinai receives some 2,700 kWh/m² of solar irradiance a year; the Bardawil lagoon and the Red Sea coast at Ain Sokhna evaporate the same seawater into every tier.
Raw solar salt — 94–97 % NaCl
Harvested undried from the El-Arish / Bardawil pans at 3–4 % natural moisture: EN 16811-1 Type 2 stockpile de-icing salt and process feedstock, the lowest-cost tier.
Washed — 97.5–98 % NaCl
Single-pass freshwater wash for industrial, water-treatment and kiln-dried Type 1 de-icing grades.
Double-washed — ≥ 99 % NaCl
Two-pass wash and recrystallisation for food, table, pool, cosmetic and chlor-alkali grades; vacuum-refined lines reach USP / BP / EP purity.

Road authorities
Type 1 kiln-dried and Type 2 natural-moisture salt to EN 16811-1, ASTM D632 / AASHTO M-143, BS 3247:2011 and SS-EN 16811-1 — Mediterranean and southern-EU tenders take Type 2 with covered storage.
Chlor-alkali, water treatment & aquaculture
Washed feedstock for brine electrolysis and ion exchange, NSF/ANSI 60 pool salt, and aquaculture salt for hatcheries and fish curing.
Food processing
Fine, medium and coarse food grades, iodised table salt and fleur de sel under ISO 22000 / HACCP / Halal, with Codex CXS 150 limits verified per lot.
Loading and verification. Sea salt loads at Al-Arish (EGAAC), Port Said East (EGPSE), Damietta (EGDAM) and Ain Sokhna (EGSOK), 240 MT FCL to 65,000 MT vessel. NaCl by ISO 2481, moisture by ISO 2483 (loss on drying at 110 °C), insolubles by ISO 2479, bulk density by EN 1097-3 and sieve analysis on every lot at the port laboratory; the Certificate of Analysis is issued before the Bill of Lading, and a lot outside specification is rejected at the loading port.
